Debuting in 2024 through the reality survival programme Nizi Project Season 2, JYP Entertainment’s NEXZ has quickly established themselves as one of the industry’s most promising rookie boy groups. Consisting of TOMOYA, YU, HARU, SO GEON, SEITA, HYUI and YUKI, the seven-member group has already earned nicknames such as “All-rounder Performers”, “Stage Genius” and “Performance Hotspot”, showing off their versatility and strong stage presence.

NEXZ greeted their Singapore fans at their Global Showcase Event <Mmchk : Not Typical> on 12 July 2026 at Capitol Theatre, as the final stop of their global showcase tour. Dressed in coordinated shades of blue, NEXZ opened the evening with the title track “Mmchk”. As their first comeback in six months following last year’s first mini album “Beat-Boxer”, they expressed their happiness at finally visiting Singapore for the first time. Promising that the showcase would be a buffet of performances, NEXZ invited fans to enjoy every moment before seamlessly continuing with “O-RLY?” and “I’m Him”.

The first talk segment was titled “Mmchk: NEXZ Way”, where the members revisited their journey through past album moments and their childhood photos. The theatre erupted in laughter as photos of YUKI’s pink hair and TOMOYA’s “mad professor” hairstyle appeared on screen, while SEITA revealed that he has practised hard to perfect the wink in his photos. Since many of the photos featured playful winks, the members decided to rate their own winking skills on the spot. YU and HYUI modestly scored themselves five and three out of ten respectively, while HARU, SO GEON and TOMOYA confidently awarded themselves perfect scores. Not to be outdone, YUKI proudly declared himself the “wink master” with an unforgettable score of one hundred out of ten.

The second game segment was titled “NEXZ: This Is Us”, which challenged the members with a reverse song quiz where they had to identify songs played backwards. To raise the stakes, they had to answer at least four questions correctly or face an on-stage penalty. Successfully completing the challenges, the members unlocked a special reward for fans by performing to the Stray Kids “Run It” challenge. The fun did not stop there as they also willingly carried out their “punishment” stages, dancing to NSYNC’s “I Want You Back” as well as the viral “Iconic by Mistake” choreography by ILLIT, KATSEYE and LE SSERAFIM.

Following a cute performance of “HYPEMAN”, which was a song written by YUKI and TOMOYA, the members sincerely thanked fans for spending their Sunday evening with them. The boys then proceeded to surprise fans during their “Run with Me” performance by stepping off the stage to interact with the audience up close. Some members even made their way up to the upper floors of the theatre, ensuring fans seated further away could still get to interact with them up close.

As the showcase drew to a close, the members shared that they had no regrets after sharing so many unforgettable moments with fans around the world through the tour. At this juncture, SEITA did his signature “Ita Ita Seita” aegyo”, which made many fans scream in delight. NEXZ also shared their satisfaction performing in Singapore as it had always been a destination on their bucket list. They expressed hopes of returning in the future, not only to try local recommendations such as laksa, but also back for another concert at an even larger venue. The group expressed that they were sad that the showcase had come to an end after months of preparation and they thanked fans for their unwavering support, promising to continue working hard. Making their farewell greetings even more special, different NEXZ members also prepared heartfelt messages in Chinese, English, Japanese and even Singlish, earning loud cheers from the audience.

Following a final VCR, NEXZ returned to the stage for the encore with “Keep on Moving”, keeping the energy high as fans enthusiastically sang along. As fans chanted, the members returned once more after for an additional encore featuring “Hands Up Yo”, “Helmet”, and a final performance of “Mmchk”. As confetti filled the theatre and the members bid farewell one last time, NEXZ successfully completed their GLOBAL SHOWCASE EVENT <Mmchk : Not Typical> , leaving Singapore fans looking forward to their next visit to our sunny island.
