SINGAPORE – Stephen Radley Auditorium @ NTUC
Lee Je Hoon made his fans’ gloomy afternoon on a Saturday filled with sunshine again at his fan meeting – VACATION.
It has been almost 6 to 7 years since the last time he came to Singapore for any official promotion. He is so glad to be back in Singapore again and shared that he has actually come to Singapore on 2 separate occasions for personal travel last year and earlier this year. He loves to travel around Singapore on foot and loves the food here, making his trip really comfortable and exciting. He’s really happy to be visiting Singapore again and meeting his fans.
Even though he has a busy schedule, he wants to have a fanmeet as his fans are his source of energy and everything he does is for his fans. Thus he would like to thank his supportive fans by meeting them.
The first segment of the fan meet were some Q&A questions based on various themes. Some memorable ones are:
Q: What would be an instagramable location in Singapore?
LJH: There are so many places to choose from, but I’ll choose Sentosa as this is my first time visiting Sentosa. After the press conference on Friday, I went back to Sentosa at around 5pm right away. It feels good to be at Sentosa. But at around 6pm, the sun starts to set and everything turns dark so quickly which was not what I expected. So I went back to my hotel shortly afterwards. It was not satisfying so I might consider going back to Sentosa again tomorrow.
Q: What one TMI that you would like to share with your fans?
LJH: I am currently preparing for my next project and would be showing a different side of me to my fans. It would be a financial crime genre, I’ll be wearing an amazing suit and my lines will have a lot of English. So I’m studying and working on my English right now.
Q: It is well known that you are a homebody. What do you usually wear at home?
LJH: For Spring and Autumn, I would be wearing a full set of PJs in stripes (because I love stripes) and for Winter I would layer something to keep me warm on top of the PJs. Because even though it’s cold in the Winter I don’t like to turn on the heater. As for Summer, even though I’m indoors, I do not like to turn on the fan or aircon either. So guess what would I be wearing? I’ll wear something thin or not wear at all. (The entire auditorium then proceeds to drown in screams of the fans)
Q: What exercise do you do and food you eat when you are working out for the cool action scenes in the drama Taxi Driver 2?
LJH: The exercises that you see me doing on Episode 1 of the drama are the real exercises that I do regularly. And for food, I would go for Chicken and Beef as I would need that protein for my body. (With this, LJH proceeds to show his fans some pushups and sit ups, and fans were further delighted when he decided to show some skin *aka abs* which he claimed that he no longer has abs like Kim Do Ki.)
Q: What was one of your most memorable summer vacation?
LJH: It would be when I last came to Singapore for my personal trip. It was around 10 or 11pm, the shops were all closed and there were nobody around. I walked around MBS and the bridge back and forth a few times (admin thinks he’s referring to the Helix bridge). It sounds weird, but I really love walking around. I walked around Singapore until 2-3am in the morning. It’s so calm and peaceful, giving me time to clear my mind and think. Singapore is really safe and I don’t have to worry about my safety at all.
Before the first segment ends, Lee Je Hoon sang the song Thick and Thin by Lany and serenaded his fans.
The second segment started off with an OX game where Lee Je Hoon had to answer the questions given by the emcee.
Lee Je Hoon is the type that would travel freely without a plan in mind. To him, deciding which place to go was a plan and that’s the end of it.
He also prefers to go on a trip where his senior pays for all the luxurious travel expenses, rather than with a junior where he has to pay for all the expenses. He explained that his mother went on a cruise trip previously, where the boarding point was in Singapore. After the trip, his mother raved on how she has enjoyed the trip so much and has such a good experience that he wants to experience it too. It would be even more enjoyable if the entire trip was paid by a senior. He also shared that when going on trips, he doesn’t mind sharing a room or even the bed which brought laughter from the audience.
Did you know that Lee Je Hoon is afraid of cockroaches? When given the choice to stay at an accommodation where big cockroaches show up or an accommodation famous for having nightmares because of ghosts, he chose the former. He explained that wherever he sees a cockroach, he’ll try to avoid it. But if it keeps running towards him, he’ll take a bowl or bucket and cover it up as he’s too scared to catch it. As for the ghost in the accommodation, he doesn’t like ghosts and scary themes but does acknowledge their presence, just that he has never seen it before.
Lee Je Hoon mentioned that he has run around Singapore before, but not cycling. He really wants to cycle and even went to ask the hotel frontdesk where he can rent a bike to cycle around Singapore. He wishes to visit places outside of the Central and CBD area as there are more natural sights for him to see.
Next up, the Emcee got everyone in the auditorium to stand up as the next OX game would be with the fans, and 3 lucky fans would stand a chance to have their photos taken with Lee Je Hoon.
Lee Je Hoon himself came up with 2 questions personally on the spot.
#1 I have an elder sister married with children. My elder sister only has 1 kid. O or X?
The answer is X. His elder sister has 2 kids.
#2 Of the 2 kids that his elder sister has, the eldest is a boy and the youngest is a girl. O or X?
The answer is X. It’s the opposite, the eldest is a girl and the youngest is a boy.
Lee Je Hoon is so happy that he could meet 3 lucky fans up close and he really wished he could hug everyone who’s present at the fan meet.
The fan meet ended with a Hi-Bye session with Lee Je Hoon.
