JANNABI Stuns With “Home” Cover And Near-Perfect Korean Singalongs At ‘JANNABI 1st Asia Tour : Sweat & Stardust in Singapore’

Lovers may hesitate, but the fans in Singapore sure did not. South Korean duo JANNABI has made a reputation for themselves as millennial musicians who turn nostalgia into music. Originally formed as a five-piece band in 2011, they officially debuted with the digital single “Rocket” in 2014 and continued to win the hearts of many over the years, both locally and internationally, which makes it surprising that this veteran in the industry is just making their first Asia tour. Finally, on 13 August 2026, JANNABI brought their music to the Capitol Theatre in Singapore as part of their tour, “Sweat & Stardust”.

The band opened with “TOGETHER!”, to a loud crowd who did not hold back on the fan chants and enthusiastic cheers. Both members exchanged astonished looks at the volume of the crowd, whose energy did not diminish throughout the night. They followed with “LOVE” and “Baby I Need You” in this segment filled with rock vibes before going for a quick mood change with a surprise song for Singapore’s JF, a soulful cover of “Home” by Kit Chan. The band’s vocalist Jung-hoon even wished Singapore a ‘happy birthday’ at the end of the song, and called this his belated gift to the fans here.

The night continued on with fan-favourites such as “land of night”, “Jack Kerouac” and a medley of “She”, “November Rain” and “A thought on an autumn night” which gave Jannabi their rise to fame. JF continued to show up with exceptionally loud singalongs as the night continued with its first climax when the first bars of “for lovers who hesitate” were played. The crowd carried the song in near-perfect Korean, demonstrating their love and familiarity with this piece. The fans’ enthusiasm even earned nods of approval from the band, who were blown away by the singalong. At breaks in between sections, the members consistently expressed their thanks and wonder at how engaged that show’s audience was. They even gave a special shout-out to those who were seated in the balcony, who they called, “the best balcony audience so far”.

Pop-rock piece “After School Activity” and “Colourful” marked the start of a section filled with whimsical charm before it led into a second climax with a cover of “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes, which turned Capitol Theatre into a temporary bouncy castle with everyone’s jumps. The set slowed its pace with “Summer”, marking the end of their main set.

Before beginning their encore set, the band gave a traditional deep bow to the audience when they first appeared. They repeatedly expressed their gratitude towards fans for being present at yet another pivotal moment in their career by hosting their first-ever solo concert in Singapore. They also demonstrated their appreciation by promising fans multiple times throughout the night that they will be back, and guitarist Do-hyung even said that, “I hope all the fans in this room are also there the next time we’re back.”
