Started out in May, quartet Doojoon, Yoseob, Gikwang and Dongwoon began their ‘LIGHTS GO ON’ tour for 3 days in Seoul before moving on to the other stops such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kaohsiung and Tokyo. Singapore was later added as an additional stop in their ‘LIGHTS GO ON, AGAIN’ encore tour.
8 September definitely was a special day for LIGHTS/B2UTY as the Singapore stop concluded their ‘LIGHTS GO ON, AGAIN’ tour. It was also especially memorable as it marked the day HIGHLIGHT stepped back to our sunny island after 11 long years!
HIGHLIGHT switched on the atmosphere by opening the show with ‘Switch On’, which was later revealed that Yoseob was initially very against the idea of adding it to the concert (we’re so thankful he didn’t go through with his own ideas!)
The boys then proceed to perform hits like ‘Privacy’, ‘Paper Cut’, ‘Body’ and more, to the loud cheers of their fans.
Today’s TMI
Who doesn’t love a TMI? The boys then fed us all with a little TMI each.
Yoseob shared that he bought a new camera recently specially for the ‘LIGHTS GO ON, AGAIN’ stop in Singapore. Although awkward with editing videos, he promised he would take all the memories they made during the show, and upload it for his fans to enjoy on his personal Youtube channel (we’re waiting!)
Doojoon shared that the team reached Singapore late last night, and he only had time to eat breakfast this morning before having to come to the concert hall to rehearse.
Gikwang revealed that he went to the gym, exercised really hard and tried all the equipment there. Upon mentioning the good gym he had in his hotel, he then attempted to show off his Singlish as he remarked a ‘GYM STEADY LA!’
Dongwoon shared that he ate Song Fa Bak Kut Teh before the concert and considered it one of his top 3 best food he has had so far!
Singlish Session
What’s coming to Singapore without learning some Singlish? The boys showed off the results of their Singlish lessons they have had, which got the audience breaking out into laughter.
Yoseob – Stay with us long long worrrr
Dongwoon – We wouldn’t forget today laaaah
Doojoon – Stay with us forever okayyy
Gikwang – Thank you for being with me tonight laaah
After the members found out that Singlish was mainly adding a ‘lah’ to any sentence, they started showing off their skills by adding ‘lah’ behind all their words. They eventually ended off the segment with a “I LOVE YOU LAAAH”
“So Beast! Hello, we are BEAST!”
BEAST IS BACK.
It was a mix of emotions for B2UTY as the members marked the start of their BEAST segment after a change of outfits.
The Singapore stop was also especially meaningful for the boys and fans alike, as it was the first concert they were able to greet themselves as BEAST as the group came to an agreement with CUBE Entertainment in April.
Fans were brought down the memory lane as they performed familiar tracks such as ‘Bad Girl’, ‘Shock’ and ‘Fiction’.
Lights Go On Again the Movie
To make sure that this was a meaningful concert for the fans, HIGHLIGHT put in a lot of effort for this concert. They also shared that the concert would be released as a movie, and are in the midst of discussing the songs and stage to be presented and shown in the movie.
“We hope we can have fun today so we don’t leave with any regrets.”
As the show came to an end, Yoseob expressed his gratitude with a ‘thank you lah’ for the fans that came down despite the bad weather. Even though he was unsure when the fans and HIGHLIGHT would meet again, he hoped that everyone would continue to stay healthy till then.
Doojoon also shared his apologies for Singapore fans for taking 11 years to return here, but promised that he would insist Singapore to be on their list for the next tour, hoping to be back as soon as possible.
The members were thankful for the many fans still waiting for them outside of Korea, and they often read through the fans’ messages on social media. They were glad to have gotten to meet fans in many different countries, face to face and sending them love despite the limitations.
HIGHLIGHT ended the show (as well as the tour) with an encore stage, as well as a quote to their fans: ‘Stay Healthy and Happy. Work Less and Earn More.’
“As long as we are here, we will support you as eternity.”
