From director Kang Hyoungchul, the hitmaker behind “Scandal Makers” and “Sunny“, comes this summer’s most outrageous action-comedy blockbuster “HI-FIVE“! The film follows five strangers who gain superpowers after receiving donated organs, and their fight to protect their newfound abilities from a dark force who wants them for himself.
“HI-FIVE” begins with five ordinary people whose lives take an extraordinary turn after receiving organ transplants from a mysterious donor. Wan-seo, a passionate Taekwondo teen, receives a new heart; Ji-sung, an aspiring screenwriter, gets a fresh pair of lungs; Seon-nyeo, a cheerful neighborhood yogurt ‘Fresh Manager’, is given a kidney; Heel-han, a gruff foreman, receives a liver; and Ki-dong, a jobless hipster, regains his eyesight through a cornea transplant.
Each transplant grants them a unique superpower, and with newfound determination, they form a team called Hi-Five. But their clashing personalities make teamwork anything but easy—sparking endless quarrels and chaotic mishaps. Meanwhile, Young-chun, a cult leader who has acquired youth through a pancreas transplant, learns of their existence and sets out to claim their powers for himself. Faced with a growing threat, the misfit superheroes must learn to come together and unlock their true powers as one.

Starting from the unique idea of gaining superpowers from receiving organ transplants, turns the functions of each organ into creative, thrilling abilities—ranging from super strength and speed to hurricane-like lung power, healing touch, and control over electromagnetic waves. The film playfully explores the unpredictable chemistry that unfolds when total strangers are thrown into life-or-death situations together.
Lee Jaein, who has proven an impressive acting range in works like “Svaha: The Sixth Finger“, “Racket Boys“, and “Night Has Come“, plays ‘Wan-seo’, a Taekwondo training girl who gains super strength and speed after a heart transplant in “HI-FIVE“. Lee Jaein tackles her first-ever action role—mastering everything from Taekwondo to high-wire stunts. Ahn Jaehong, known for transforming completely into characters in works like “Be Melodramatic“, “Mask Girl“, and “Chicken Nugget“, brings his signature quirky charms to the role of ‘Ji-sung’, an aspiring writer who develops incredible lung capacity after receiving a transplant. Ra Miran, the irreplaceable scene-stealer from “Honest Candidate“, “Honest Candidate“, and “The Good Bad Mother“, plays ‘Seon-nyeo’, a yogurt ‘Fresh Manager’ who gains mysterious powers after a kidney transplant. Kim Hiewon, a standout in “The Man from Nowhere“, “The Merciless“, and “Pawn“, and more recently acclaimed for his directorial work in “Light Shop“, plays ‘Heel-han’, a construction foreman who acquires healing hands after a liver transplant. Oh Jungse, the master of unforgettable characters from “Extreme Job“, “When the Camellia Blooms“, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay“, and “When Life Give You Tangerines“, takes on the role of ‘Jong-min’, a real-life hero armed not by superpowers but by fierce fatherly love for his daughter Wan-seo. Finally, Park Jinyoung, who has proven his acting talents in “Yumi’s Cells Season 2“, “Christmas Carol“, and “The Witch“, delivers a bold transformation as ‘Young-chun’, the youthful and dangerous cult leader who gains youth through a pancreas transplant.
As director Kang Hyoungchul explains, “I wanted to create a movie that anyone could enjoy, something that makes the fantasy of superpowers easy to understand and fun to watch.”
By blending outlandish superpowers with grounded, relatable situations, “HI-FIVE” promises to strike a chord with audiences of all ages! With its unique characters delivering unbeatable team synergy, the film is set to bring refreshing laughs and action-packed entertainment to this summer’s box office!
