Led by K-pop icon G-DRAGON, the variety show Good Day bridges connections through music. In the program, G-DRAGON interacts with high-profile guests and collaborates with them on special songs. Following its release, the show skyrocketed to the No.1 spot on iQIYI International’s variety show chart. The deep camaraderie and chemistry among the “88Line”—male celebrities born in 1988—became a major talking point, as G-DRAGON, Kim Soo-hyun, Lee Soo-hyuk, Im Si-wan, Hwang Kwang-hee, and Jung Hae-in gathered in one place. Each showcased their distinct personalities while engaging in hilarious interactions that kept audiences entertained.
G-DRAGON and Hwang Jung-min’s Unexpected Brotherhood
In Episode 2, G-DRAGON met up with award-winning actor Hwang Jung-min at a vinyl bar, displaying their unexpected but close bond. G-DRAGON shared, “People are always surprised when I tell them Jung-min hyung and I are friends. He has given me so much valuable advice and inspiration. He’s my most caring big brother, and he even attended my concert to cheer me on.”
Hwang Jung-min reciprocated the admiration, and when G-DRAGON curiously asked about his next project, Hwang playfully replied, “Nothing is confirmed yet, but for now, I’ve decided to star in G-DRAGON hyung’s show for some fun!”—making G-DRAGON laugh so hard he collapsed onto the table.
G-DRAGON’s Emotional Return and the Story Behind Crooked
Reflecting on his return, G-DRAGON noted a shift in fan reactions. “Before, whenever I made a comeback, fans would excitedly scream ‘Oppa~ Oppa~,’ but this time, I heard more of ‘Ji-yong-ah! Thank you. We just want you to be happy and not overwork yourself!’ It was really touching.” Hwang Jung-min responded warmly, saying, “That’s real love. Your fans truly treasure you, which is why they say that.”
G-DRAGON also shared insights into the creation of his 2013 hit Crooked. He recalled, “I had already composed the melody and rhythm, but I struggled with the lyrics. I wanted to express explosive energy, and the inspiration eventually came from Kang San-ae’s song Wild and Free. Senior artists’ music has always been a great source of inspiration for me.”
88Line’s Hilarious Reality Dating Show Parody
During an 88Line gathering, the members hilariously reenacted a reality dating show concept inspired by I Am SOLO. Each showcased their charm in their introductions—Im Si-wan impressed with his Rubik’s cube speed-solving skills, while Jung Hae-in flexed his muscular forearm strength by splitting an apple with his bare hands.

Kim Soo-hyun, now 18 years into his career, laughed at himself, saying, “Even I find it unbelievable that I’m here. I used to be quite guarded and even a little withdrawn. If this wasn’t 2024, I don’t think I would have agreed to this so easily. But I’ve changed a lot this year—maybe I’m just getting older and turning into an ahjussi. That’s why I find it so meaningful to gather with people my age.”
To liven up the atmosphere, he started singing in an exaggerated voice and even mimicked Taeyang’s singing style. However, when the others gave him blank stares, he was left awkwardly embarrassed. Seeing this, Hwang Kwang-hee egged him on to reenact his iconic Queen of Tears scene, where he dramatically called out the female lead’s name, “Hae-in!”—only for Jung Hae-in, whose name sounds identical, to cut in, “Stop calling me!” The room erupted in laughter.

First Impressions Voting and Hwang Kwang-hee’s Gym Pics
During a “first impressions” vote, each member had to cast a vote for someone they found likable. G-DRAGON received two votes, while Hwang Kwang-hee, Kim Soo-hyun, Lee Soo-hyuk, and Jung Hae-in each got one. Shockingly, Im Si-wan got zero. When G-DRAGON, who had voted for Kim Soo-hyun, tried to console him by saying, “I actually wanted to vote for Si-wan,” Im Si-wan jokingly replied, “What’s the point of saying that now?”
Between filming breaks, the members exchanged contact details, and Hwang Kwang-hee seized the chance to show off his gym progress. He eagerly asked for opinions on his chest muscles, pestering G-DRAGON despite his protests, leaving the staff in stitches.

Before the episode aired, Hwang Kwang-hee uploaded a group photo of the 88Line on Instagram, causing a buzz. He jokingly revealed, “At first, I personally asked a brand to lend me clothes, but they refused. The moment they saw the 88Line lineup, they immediately changed their mind and reached out to me!”
What’s Next?
Next week, the 88Line squad continues to grow closer, with playful teasing and affectionate banter. They’ll also put their singing skills to the test, while Kian84 and his fellow G-DRAGON superfan, Hong Jin-kyung, join in on a hilarious mini-audition to be part of the project—leaving G-DRAGON in stitches.
Good Day airs exclusively on iQIYI International every Sunday at 21:40.
