Just weeks after unleashing his explosive first single of the year, “ruin my life”, eaJ returns with “merry go round” via Position Music—a cinematic alt-pop confessional that finds him diving deeper into emotional turbulence with unflinching honesty and genre-defying flair.
Where “ruin my life” shimmered with glitchy textures and chronicled the intoxicating thrill of romantic self-destruction, “merry go round” spirals further into the chaos—capturing the relentless cycle of toxic love with effortless precision. Blending bedroom pop intimacy, moody synth-driven production, indie-rock angst, and sweeping cinematic alternative elements, eaJ delivers a track that’s as emotionally precise as it is sonically expansive—built to hit just as hard in headphones as it does in an arena.
It’s another bold step from an artist in constant evolution. Following a transformative 2024—touring stadiums with Imagine Dragons, headlining solo shows across Asia and North America, and releasing his soul-baring EP ‘when the rain stopped following me‘—eaJ enters 2025 fully in command of his creative vision.
Vulnerable, boundary-pushing, and fearless in his storytelling, he continues to defy categorization, crafting a sound and identity that’s uniquely his own. With more music on the way, a global fanbase growing at lightning speed, and a jam-packed year of releases, collaborations, and live shows ahead, eaJ is quickly proving to be one of the most compelling and unpredictable emerging voices in alt-pop. Keep your eyes on him, this ride is only getting started.
