Kim Rae Won And Lee Jong Suk Engage In A Cat-And-Mouse Game In Sound Terror Action Movie “DECIBEL”

“DECIBEL”, one of the most anticipated movies in 2022 for its unique subject and genre, has just started its journey to meet the audiences. The Korean movie, which has just been released in South Korea on November 16, is the ‘Sound Terror Action’ movie, portraying a bomb designer (Lee Jong Suk) who attempts to occupy a city with a special bomb responsive to a certain degree of the big noise, and a former navy commander (Kim Rae Won) who became his target. A cat-and-mouse game between these two characters will fill the running time of the movie with tight confrontation and intense action.

Jung Sang Hoon, an all-round entertainer, makes his appearance in the movie as a journalist who happens to get involved in the terror incident, making the story richer while helping the protagonist and following the lead. Park Byung Eun, who has the great acting skills across various genres, plays an agent from Defense Security Command, giving a different point of view and speeding up the progress of the story. Cha Eun Woo, the rising star, plays the role of Petty Officer 1st class, Sonic Wave Detector of Navy submarine. He shows a detailed acting by taking advice from real officers and professionals to understand better of his character.

Marking his first appearance on cinema screens, Cha Eun Woo said, “I’m honoured and proud that I could work with the great actors and director,” raising the expectations about the teamwork of the hottest actors.

Synopsis

Former lieutenant commander Do-yeong (Kim Rae Won) suffers from PTSD caused by the hellish submarine accident in which he lost his colleagues. Even though he is revered as a national hero, he feels guilty and tormented by his own family estrangement.

One day, Do-yeong receives a cryptic phone call from a mysterious person, threatening he’ll blow up a football stadium with improvised explosives triggered by a certain decibel. In the nick of time, Do-yeong saves innocent lives but the terrorist remains intent on inflicting further casualties, including Do-yeong’s wife and daughter. Now he must race against the clock to track the terrorist down and save his family as well as other people. Amid this impossible task, the unforeseen consequences of a secret he left buried in the deep sea resurfaces.


Korean movie “DECIBEL” airs in Singapore cinemas from 1 December 2022.
