Soloist Chungha is back with her new EP “Alivio“, freshly released on February 12! The EP consists of eight songs and boasts two title tracks, “STRESS” and “Thanks for the memories“. Fellow female soloist Sunmi is also featured in the track “Salty“.
With the catchy hook “Take it easy, no stress!”, “STRESS” is a signature Chungha song with an upbeat melody. Chungha is also credited as one of the lyricist for “STRESS“. The music video for the song conveys a sense of disorientation which highlights her internal battle, amplifying the intense, chaotic feeling of stress.
Chungha debuted as a member of I.O.I in 2016, a project girl group formed from reality show Produce 101. Afterwards, she went on to promote as a soloist and released many well-known hits like “Rollercoaster“, “Gotta Go” and “Snapping“.
Chungha left her former label MNH Entertainment after her contract expired in 2023. Towards the end of her contract with her previous label, many fans of Chungha were expressing frustration at the lack of proper support given by the label for her activities. In October 2023, it was announced that Chungha signed with Jay Park‘s label More Vision. Under her new label, she released her first digital single “EENIE MEENIE” which also included B-side track “I’m Ready“.
