BOYNEXTDOOR Knocks Their Way Into Our Hearts With Their First Concert In Singapore

BOYNEXTDOOR in town! Consisting of members Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesun, Leehan and Woonhak, BOYNEXTDOOR made their highly anticipated debut in Singapore, bringing with them their very first concert KNOCK ON Vol.1′ IN SINGAPORE last weekend. The show was nothing but spectacular, leaving the fans (affectionately known as ONEDOOR) filled with excitement throughout the entire night.

Well-known for their versatile yet relatable musical style resonating with fans, BOYNEXTDOOR showcased their talent on stage with a perfect blend of high-energy performances (such as “Earth, Wind & Fire”, “Fadeaway” and “Nice Guy”) and boy-next-door-style ballads (such as “If I Say I Love You”, “400 Years” and “So let’s go see the stars”). From their infectious choreography to their vocal prowess, it was no wonder they got their fans all excited and singing aloud with them for almost all the songs. As a special touch, the group also specially displayed their dance skills during the “SKIT” dance break, sending fans into a frenzy. BOYNEXTDOOR also specially altered their various outfits to match the various moods of the concert, further elevating the performance for the fans.

Not only so, BOYNEXTDOOR showed off their versatility as they also put on a personal touch with “Call Me”, a self-written song by Taesan meant to comfort and uplift fans through tough times. As if that wasn’t enough for a surprise, BOYNEXTDOOR gave fans an unexpected treat by singing a couple of lines from their newly released OST song (“Never Loved This Way Before”), leaving them stunned and excited.

“Wherever you are, we hope our songs will become the soundtrack to your life.”

Throughout the night, the members showcased not only their talent but also their charm and sense of humour. Their efforts to connect with the crowd were also seen as they incorporated some fun Singlish phrases into their interactions – using words like “shiok”, “swee” and “steady la” to get closer to their Singaporean fans. BOYNEXTDOOR even sneaked in a Singlish confession to their fans – “Ai stead mai” (Do you want to go steady with me), which got the crowd screaming out loud. Jaehyun, the leader, repeatedly shared with the fans that the members had put in a lot of work learning English in the week leading up to the concert, and it clearly paid off. The group communicated with ease, relying minimally on the translator, making the fans feel as though they were all speaking the same language. One of the most endearing moments came when Taesan proudly showed off his Singapore keychains bought from a local convenience store when he went sightseeing the day before the concert.

The crowd’s energy was nothing short of electrifying and passionate, with fans even rushing towards the barricade when the members went down stage during “Amnesia” to get up close and personal with their dedicated fans. The members warmly requested that fans returned to their seats, showing just how much they valued the safety and enjoyment of everyone. The reciprocal love from the fans were displayed with a heartfelt fan slogan, uniquely designed in the shape of a door, touching the members deeply, even bringing them close to tears. However, what touched them even more was a VCR specially prepared from Singapore ONEDOOR to them, which pushed them to tears, especially Jaehyun. Just when fans thought the concert came to an end, with the lights coming on, BOYNEXTDOOR surprised the crowd with another encore performance of “If I Say I Love You”, much to the delight of fans.

“원도어가 보이넥스트도어의 꿈을 400년동안 지겨줄게요
ONEDOOR WILL PROTECT BOYNEXTDOOR’S DREAM FOR 400 YEARS”

Throughout the concert, it was clear that BOYNEXTDOOR had fallen in love with Singapore. The members expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the warmth and energy they experienced, even sharing their hopes of returning in the future, potentially performing at the larger-scale National Stadium. Their first visit to Singapore may have been a dream come true for fans, but for BOYNEXTDOOR, it felt like a paradise that they hoped would only grow bigger in the future. After experiencing the fervor and passion of BOYNEXTDOOR, we look forward to seeing them again on our sunny island in the future – this time, perhaps in an even bigger venue.

“Let’s be together just for 400 years!”
