The lineup includes masters of shamanism, tarot, face and foot reading, saju, and other schools of divination. Each contestant uses their own tools and techniques, whether that means communicating with spirit guides, interpreting birth charts, reading physical features, or even using modern devices to support their deductions.
Every round challenges them to deliver the most accurate and convincing reading in order to avoid elimination. It is not just about instinct, but also about how well they can explain and defend their conclusions. The mix of traditional practices and modern production gives the show a fresh but culturally rooted feel.
One of the most enjoyable parts of the series is the variety. It is genuinely interesting to see the different forms of fate reading side by side and understand how each of them works. The show also does a good job introducing viewers to cultural traditions behind these practices, which makes it more than just a typical competition.
That said, in our opinion, there is still some room to refine the format. Some of the challenge setups seem to favor shamans, which can make contestants with other specialties feel slightly disadvantaged. In episode two, during the reading about the fireman’s cause of death, it felt like presentation style carried a lot of weight.
Some of the editing skips over certain remarks that could give viewers extra context on the rankings. As a result, audiences sometimes have to piece together the information themselves when deciding who performed best.
Still, even if specialists in niche areas may not end up winning the entire show, they clearly prove their skills in their own fields. Gukjoo’s romance tarot readings, for example, stand out and show real expertise, even if the competition format does not always fully highlight it.
Overall, while the judging system could use a bit more balance and clarity, the show remains entertaining and easy to binge. It sparks curiosity about fate reading and makes the whole practice feel more open and less mysterious.
