SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Singapore

13 September 2012, Singapore – This is a good year to be a Singapore K-pop fan. The news all Singapore K-pop fans have been waiting for with bated breaths amidst months of speculation has been confirmed – SMTOWN Live Tour III, arguably K-pop’s most iconic mega concert, is finally coming to our sunny shores this November 23rd!

Currently boasting an impressive lineup of SM Entertainment A-listers including BoA, Girls’ Generation, and Super Junior, SMTOWN Live Tour III is set to take place at The Float @ Marina Bay. It will also be the first time audiences will be able to set foot on the floating stage, and mosh pit ticket holders can expect to get as close as 10 feet away from the stage. Not only will this be the first ever concert to be held at the venue, SMTOWN Live Tour III is also likely to make history as Singapore’s largest ever concert should it sell out its 18,000 capacity.

Organisers Running into the Sun have promised fans a spectacular four-hour long show, complete with top-notch concert effects in addition to dazzling performances from the K-pop superstars against Singapore’s majestic skyline. Unlike its other venues before Singapore, this will also be the very first time SM Town Live is taking place on a floating platform.

“SM Town is truly the mother of all K-pop concerts and we’re madly excited to bring this to Singapore. As a massive concert that has only been staged so far at iconic international venues, we hope this concert will impact Singapore and the region to bring progressive music and quality productions here,” says Beatrice Chia-Richmond, Creative Director of Running Into The Sun.

SM Entertainment artistes are no strangers to our little red dot, with Girls’ Generation and Super Junior’s last visit in 2011, but fans are anticipating Queen of K-pop BoA’s arrival, as this will be her first time in Singapore since her debut in 2000. Other SM Entertainment acts that have yet to be confirmed in the line-up of the Singapore leg include TVXQ, SHINee, f(x), and EXO.

SMTOWN Live Tour III has been performed in 2012 at Anaheim, United States; Hsinchu, Taiwan; Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea. SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore will be the concert tour’s sixth stop and is expected to attract audiences from Singapore and around the region.

This will also be the first time audiences will be able to set foot on the Marina Bay floating platform at the mosh pit zones.

With the incredible influence that SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Singapore holds, audiences are expected to come from countries around the region such as Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam and Australia. Official travel partner Konsortium will also start offering special travel packages for fans around the region to travel to Singapore to catch the concert.

“The growing popularity of K-pop music and culture across the world or more popularly known as “Hallyu” has brought many diverse communities together and Samsung is happy to be one of the key drivers behind this celebration of cultural diversity. Samsung is proud to present the widely popular and iconic SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore, to delight fans and most importantly, our loyal customers who will get to receive limited edition memorabilia and stand more chances to win concert tickets,” says Ms Irene Ng, Vice President, Marketing, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd.
