On January 31st, SBS “Good Morning” aired video clips of BoA‘s past as a trainee and singer. During the episode, it has been revealed that SM Entertainment has discovered BoA when she followed her older brother to an audition.
SME’s founder Lee Soo Man stated, “At the time, BoA was in 5th grade. I was having trouble finding talented youngsters that have not yet started middle school and she caught my eye.”
As an elementary school student, BoA constantly practiced for 5 hours on weekdays and 10 hours on weekends. Lee Soo Man added, “At the time, our company didn’t even have 3 billion won, but we ended up getting a loan. We invested that much money into her because it was something we really wanted to try and challenge.”
Afterwards, the show aired several video clips documenting BoA’s career. In one interview, 14-year-old BoA stated, “In 10 years, I think that I will have a beautiful family. My dream is to be a good wife and a wise mother.”
