StarWorld, Asia’s leading female-targeted entertainment channel, has announced the cast today who will lead the third season of the hit show Asia’s Next Top Model. A new set of experts from the global fashion scene will be leading this year’s set of talented young hopefuls from all over Asia through a series of challenges that will arm them with experience to make it in the fashion world, as the competition whittles down to discover Asia’s Next Top Model. Hosting the show for the first time is superstar model Georgina Wilson, who will be presenting the competition throughout its development.
Wilson has a wealth of experience that she’ll be using to lead the cast of model contenders through their day-to-day activities. As host, she will serve as the voice of the competition, giving direction to contestants when needed. As judge, Wilson will also help decide on the fate of contestants as they work to become Asia’s Next Top Model. “I’m excited to work with such a prestigious competition that has launched the careers of talented models from Asia. I’m confident that this season will showcase even more bright and talented young women who will put Asia on the fashion and modeling map, and viewers will get to experience their journey in all its glory and drama,” says Wilson.
Wilson will be joined on the judging panel by Asia’s Next Top Model’s mentor extraordinaire, international supermodel Joey Mead King and series newcomer Alex Perry, who has previously done considerable work with Australia’s Next Top Model.
A familiar face throughout Asia’s Next Top Model, King will be returning to the show to don the all-important role of Mentor to the young models. Her vast experience as a working model and runway darling over the past two decades makes King the perfect mentor to advise the models on their overall look, attitude and professionalism. “I am honored to have the opportunity to help these young talented women bloom into professionals who may one day take over the industry. I’m looking to bring out the passion in these girls to fuel their journey,” says King. She will help develop the talent before her and serve as counsellor to any model who needs expert advice from someone who is already enjoying a successful career. King will also be judging the models on their improvement throughout the competition to determine who best deserves to become Asia’s Next Top Model.
Alex Perry joins Asia’s Next Top Model as Creative Director, helping the models develop their image, including wardrobe, makeup and hair, as well as on-camera presence. “We’re not just seeking a beautiful face – makeup, hair and fashion can help with that – but we want to find the model who can tell a story and grab our attention with sheer talent,” Perry says. A celebrated designer and fashion icon, Alex has previously served as a veteran judge on Australia’s Next Top Model. Perry will bring his eye for glamour and beauty, as well as extensive experience in the real world of fashion industry and television, to help Asia’s hopefuls take their next step onto the world stage.
Asia’s Next Top Model Season 3 is currently in pre-production and will air in the first half of 2015. Presented in collaboration with Subaru, Tresemme, Close Up and Zalora, Asia’s Next Top Model Season 3 promises to deliver exciting challenges and stunning photo shoots setting the stage for the best modelling talent in Asia. With exposure to the expertise of global fashion professionals such as Wilson, King and Perry, contestants will grow and develop into world-class modelling professionals before the eyes of viewers, but only one will shine enough to deserve the title of Asia’s Next Top Model.
