Kang Gary of Running Man fame and one half of duo group Leessang was in town last Friday to promote channel M’s latest reality programme, School’s OUT. Just the day before, Gary paid a surprise visit to Singapore Polytechnic, even holding a guerilla concert!
From Gary’s Instagram account (before he deleted most of his posts), you can instantly tell that he is a big fan of Singaporean food, with pictures of local delights such as chilli crab, bak kut teh and even beancurd. At the meet & greet session held at Wisma Atria, Gary proclaimed his love for chilli crab and bak kut teh, and also shared that he had bak kut teh for dinner the night before! He also added that he wants to sell the food he had in Singapore back in Korea!
During his student days, Gary was not cut out to be a studying material and he did not do well in his studies. Instead, as he loved dancing, he chose to pursue his dreams in that direction. So Gary’s advice to students is, “Do things you like and you want to do! Everything is possible!”
As Gary had just released his solo album, “2002” in Korea, he hoped to be able to return to Singapore soon to perform his songs again. Gary also recalled about playing the ‘pepero kiss’ game with a lucky fan during his previous Singapore fan meeting, in which pictures of the game made local headlines and he hoped to play that game again with another fan!
8 lucky fans also had the chance to get upclose and personal with the man himself on stage, even receiving hugs from him! Gary also took the chance to take selcas with fans gathered around the venue – were you one of the lucky fans present?
School’s OUT will air on channel M Singapore: StarHub TV Channel 824 / Channel 874 (HD) and Singtel TV 518 (HD). The show premieres on 14 November at 8.30pm.
