[Wanderlust Wednesday] JYJ Park Yoochun TimeOut Gelato Bar in Korea [CEASED]

11 February 2015, Singapore – Wasssup and welcome back to our weekly ‘Wanderlust Wednesday’ column! ^^ Hope you guys had a good read on “How to travel ‘boring’ Singapore during Lunar New Year Festivities”!

This time we are going all the way to the land of paradise (kimchi)~ where all your KPOP idols came from; South Korea!!!! I believe some of us have travelled to Korea before, and some of us might be planning to go this year! Thus, KAvenyou is here, to give you all the guide on travelling in Korea, especially to your idol cafés or restaurants that you always wanted to visit badly! 😉

First up, we are going to introduce JYJ (former TVXQ member) Park Yoochun, or as known as Micky Yoochun‘s (stage name) Gelato Bar!

TimeOut Gelato Bar is a Gelato shop opened by Yoochun in 2009. It was known that Yoochun gifted this store to his mother and has since garnered a lot of attention from the fans from opening day. International fans even flew specially to Korea just for this store! Fans have also reported on Yoochun popping by occasionally. Usually the shop is managed by his mother and his brother, Park YooHwan.

Unfortunately, the shop ceased operations on 25th April 2013 due to some unforeseen circumstances. Luckily I managed to pop by during my visit to South Korea the very same year in March!! Fans who managed to visit the Gelato Bar before it closed down, good for you! I’m sure we are all missing it now 🙁 And no fret to the fans who didn’t manage to visit, here are some photos and details you can read on! ^^;

TimeOut Gelato Bar was situated at Apgujeong Station, you have to walk a little (less than 10 minutes!) before you reach your destination!

The Gelato Bar was fairly big. With all corners filled up with sofa seats and tables and a big flat screen TV hanging at the side! Perfect spot for fans to gather and go crazy with JYJ! XD

Apologies as I forgot to take photos of the variety of Gelato ice cream they had (too excited for dessert LOL), but here’s a menu! They also sold drinks such as Americano, Tea and fruit juices! In my opinion, the price for the ice-cream and drinks were fairly cheap, around SGD5 for a regular cup of Gelato with 2 choices of flavours! It was awesome because they would also give you a free sticker of Yoochun with every purchase of their Gelato ice-cream! The sticker designs will change over time and not be just one design for very long! So it was a good thing for Yoochun fans because they would visit once in a while to collect those stickers that are specially produced by the TimeOut Gelato Bar!

Let’s take a look at the surroundings! Walls are filled with frame posters of Yoochun, and of course his brother Yoohwan!

There’s also a tall white shelf of dedications + fan gifts that Yoochun has received! The shelf is really overloaded with a wide range of fan gifts such as photo frames, message boards, fan art, cups and many more! ^^;

It definitely was sad news for JYJ fans, especially Yoochun-biased ones as the shop is no longer there. We can only hope that Yoochun opens another dessert shop like this in the near future, keke!

*If there are any places that you would like to explore or find out about, do comment to let us know! We might cover that soon!

**Stay tune to KAvenyou for our daily Wanderlust Wednesday as we uncover more KPOP idols cafes and restaurants for you!!! ^^
