17 January 2013, Singapore – The press conference and meet & greet session of Jay Park Live in Singapore 2013 was held in Butter Factory on the evening of 17th January 2013. Jay Park’s command of English and Korean are both very fluent, as he answered to journalists’ questions in both languages. The press conference was also a light-hearted one, as Jay shared more about his personal life, upcoming plans and even joked around!

For his concert happening on the next day, Jay Park said that he would not call it a concert, but a long showcase instead, where he could showcase his skills and performances, entertaining the audience for a longer time. In his own words, he called it “a preview for my concert”, where he would be singing his heart out in Singapore.

Being a self-professed YouTube freak, he is very open about doing collaborations with other YouTube celebrities, having done one with Jin and Dennis Yin in Malaysia. Jay had brought his cameraman and friend Hep to Singapore as well, so be expected to see Singapore being featured in episode 5 of Jay Park TV!

Having recently uploaded a photo of himself with Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon on Instagram, when asked if a collaboration between them will be possible, Jay replied “yeah, hopefully it will!” Jay added that he is open to any form of collaborations, and he knows that G-Dragon is also open to it, so they just have to pick the right song together and hopefully in the near future, it will happen.

When asked about any other artistes he would like to do a collaboration with, Jay Park replied that he has met up with Dynamic Duo and Primary, and also has been doing lots of stuff with Cha Cha, Dok2 and the Quiet. He added that he may be collaborating with Supreme Team’s E-Sans and Jungle (Entertainment). To summarise, Jay Park said that it is basically people that has collaborated with him in his first album plus more new people.

When asked if he would do collaborations with Korean-American artistes or Canadian artistes like Ailee, Jay replied “definitely!” and revealed that he has already known Ailee for 3-4 years, even before she came to Korea and became a Kpop star. He did a collaboration with G.NA before on her album as well.

Having hosted SNL Korea recently, Jay Park felt that it was a very good experience for him. He felt that the show pushes the limits and is very edgy, so he wanted to go up there and show his comedic side. It was also hard as there was only a few days for him to prepare and memorise all the characters, to which he has a newfound respect to the cast members as they have to do that every week.

Jay Park does not know how many tattoos he currently has because he is too lazy to count. Jay had his first tattoo done in 2010, when he was around 23/24 years old. Most of his tattoos have meanings, from his music, family, crew, to what he stands for and his morals.

Having written many songs by himself for his albums, Jay Park has definitely grown a lot as an artiste and the difference can be seen in his new album when it comes out. Jay added that when you take a look at his Take A Deeper Look and New Breed albums, the quality of New Breed is much better in terms of songwriting and writing.

Before his shows, Jay Park does some of these things to perk himself up: drink red bull, hop around, stretch a little bit, do some vocal exercises, do a little prayer for the show to go well.

Jay Park’s life motto is YOLO (you only live once)! Basically for him, it is to try and enjoy what he does and work hard – Work Hard Play Hard!

As a songwriter, Jay Park joked that he wished he had written all the number 1 hits. But from all of his favourite songs, he wished he has written Chris Brown’s Turn Up The Music.

By the age of 30, Jay Park hopes to be an established artiste everywhere, where everyone around the world will know his music, perform in countries that he had never performed in before. At the end of the day, Jay wishes to be the same guy who is much more established.

Lastly, Jay Park wants his fans to remember him as an artiste who puts out great music, who is a humble guy, laidback and just a regular person. To Jay Park, he is well-known but he does not consider himself as a celebrity, but more of a cool friend instead.

JWalkerz defintely had an unforgettable experience during Jay Park’s meet & greet session that took place shortly after the press conference. Unlike most other meet & greet sessions where fans could only manage at most a few seconds of close-up interaction with their idols, this one was however filled with fanservice.

The first lucky fan who went on stage scored the longest time alone interacting to Jay Park, as the marker to sign autographs ran out of ink and he had to wait for a replacement. While waiting, Jay started chatting to the fan who seemed to be very shy with the presence of her idol right in front of him.

It was sure a very lucky day not only to that fan, but to other JWalkerz as well as Jay accepted different fan requests and each fanservice he responded with left the crowd going crazy as well!

Besides signing autographs, Jay Park also took photos with every one of the fans and played along to the poses the fans did. He also obliged to selca requests on the fans’ own mobile phones and a fanboy even managed to record a video of himself and Jay together! Fans also got a hug from Jay before leaving the stage – indeed Jay Park is the champion of fanservice as each fan left the stage in a state of disbelief of their intimate interaction with their idol.
