Singapore April 25, 2013 – Cristofori Music School is proud to present Sungha Jung Live in Singapore. Sungha will be supported by Spanish Maestro Guitarist Agustin Amigo for the show. This billing features two of the world’s top guitarists, and is set up to be the biggest guitar event of the year.

Sungha Jung is a 15 year old YouTube sensation hailing from South Korea. In 5 years, he has composed arranged or performed almost 500 songs across a diverse array of genres like K-Pop, Jazz, Contemporary, New Age, Pop and Classical. Among others, he has covered songs by well-known outfits such as the Carpenters, Beatles, Jason Mraz, Bruno Mars, 2NE1, BigBang, Adele and Whitney Houston. Known for his boyish charms, the teenager has been viewed more than 400 million times on YouTube. Fans are keenly following the progress of this rising star as his music continues to evolve and inspire generations of youths around the world.

2013 is a special year for Sungha. He recently released his third album; and is doing this third tour in Singapore. Come to the show expecting renditions by your favorite K Pop artistes (2NE1, Big Bang and SNSD etc.), in addition to his famous originals and cover arrangements!

Both Sungha Jung and Agustin Amigo perform a type of guitar music known among enthusiasts as fingerstyle. In this virtuosic style of music, the guitarist uses the guitar much like a piano, and proceeds to perform the melody, bass, accompaniment and percussion all on a single instrument.

Sungha Jung previously performed in Singapore last May, to 2 sold-out crowds at the DBS auditorium. Agustin Amigo will be here for his maiden show.

In the lead up to the concert, Cristofori Music School will be holding a Sungha Jung Guitar Competition and an Agustin Amigo Guitar Workshop for the fans. May 17, 2013, Hong Kong – G-Dragon, the King of KPOP, ascended to his throne with his two-day solo concert “G-DRAGON 2013 WORLD TOUR: ONE OF A KIND in HONG KONG” at AsiaWorld-Arena on May 17, 2013 (Friday). His spectacular performance led over 24, 000 audiences to their ecstasy and proved that he is the one and only “King of KPOP”.

Although it might be unexpected, Dani has apparently known Chris Brown since she was in elementary school. Knowing that she is currently in the States, the Hollywood star invited Dani to his performance for a radio station concert in San Jose, California, which led to an opportunity for T-ara‘s newly-debuted subunit, T-ara N4.

After the concert, Dani met up with Brown and revealed that she’s training as a member of T-ara, which caught Brown’s interest as he has been looking more into K-pop lately thanks to worldwide sensation Psy. After being showed T-ara N4′s music video for “Countryside Life“, Brown expressed his interest to collaborate with the girls and invited them to his music video filming on the 11th. However, due to the subunit’s performance at ‘Dream Concert‘ in Korea, they will be heading to Los Angeles on the 12th.

A representative of CCM Entertainment revealed that T-ara N4 will be meeting up with Brown after his return to LA to discuss topics related to music. There is currently no definite plan whether the collaboration will be done or not.

According to an announcement made by the production company, Mais Entertainment, on May 15, Kara will shoot a new drama series, titled Secret Love, directed by Kim Gyu Tae, who also did the SBS drama series That Winter, Wind Blows. The new drama series is of the omnibus format, consisting of five episodes, and is scheduled to start airing this fall. The five members of the group are cast in the lead roles, one in each episode.

The drama consists of romantic love stories which will be produced like a movie. It will be released in several Asian countries, including Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

An official from the production company says, “The director, Kim Gyu Tae shows his skill with remarkable cinematography, and Kara members will be featured in the five love stories. We hope you’ll look forward to the series.”

Three couples appearing on MBC’s We Got Married recently traveled to Japan. According to May 16 announcement by a staffer, the thee couples (Jung Jin Woon of 2AM and Kho Joon Hee, Jo Jung Chi and Jung In, Tae Min of Shinee and Son Na Eun of A-pink) went on a trip for three days to Fukuoka, Japan, on May 14.

This is their first time to travel together since they joined We Got Married at one month intervals, starting with Jung Jin Woon and Kho Joon Hee in February. It is also the first time for the three couple to film together, which drew interest as to how the trip would go considering the troubles of their first meeting.

According to a staffer, after the initial threll of taking a trip together, the three couples had a rough time following their tight schedule, startintg with their departure at dawn.

In We Got Married, the three couples show off their individual appeal. Jung Jin Woon and Kho Joon Hee are a younger-man-older-woman couple (the opposite of what is usually expected). Jo Jung Chi and Jung In are a real couple who have been dating for 10 years. Tae Min and Son Na Eun are a new “idol” couple.

According to a May 13 report by MBC, actress Ha Ji Won has accepted the role of Empress Ki, a real historical person, in Hwatu, which is going to air in the second half of this year. Hwatu will be the sequel to The Goddess Of Fire, Jung-Yi, which will take over the time slot of The Gu Family Bookwhen it ends. Hwatu is a historical drama that describes loves and conflicts in the life of the real Empress Ki.

In the drama, Ha Ji Won play the attractive, wise empress of Goryeo, who has a powerful influence over the Yuan Dynasty of Genghis Khan. Empress Ki fulfilled political ideals and predestined love with pride in Goryeo as part of an unfamiliar foreign imperial family. The story of Empress Ki is not popularly known and will fascinate viewers with its tale of beautiful yet sorrowful predestined love.

It has been a year since Ha Ji Won appeared in The King, Two Hearts, which ended in May 2012. Viewers will be looking forward to seeing how Ha Ji Won will do. SHe has shown acting skill in a variety of genres playing very different characters in MBC’s Damo, SBS’s Secret Garden andSomething Happened in Bali.

Hwatu is written by Jang Young Chul and Jung Kyung Soon, who has been credited for outstanding historical research and powerful writing skills for KBS 1TV’s Dae Jo Young and SBS’s Giant andSalaryman. Producer/director Han Hee, who directed MBC’s Dr. JIN and Over the Rainbow, will direct the series.

According to an announcement made by their agency, SM Entertainment, on May 16, SHINee (Onew, Jong Hyun, Min Ho, Tae Min, and Key) have written a travel journal titled SHINee’s SurpriseVacation, containing candid descriptions of things they experienced during their travels. It will go on sale on the 25th of May.

An agency official says, “The travel journal contains pictures of beautiful scenery and ordinary life stories of the group members, who traveled to Switzerland, Thailand, England, and Japan. Tae Min enjoys extreme sports in Switzerland, Onew spends a good time at a resort in Thailand, Min Ho enjoys watching a Premiere League game in England, Key enjoys everyday life in London, and Jong Hyun takes a rest in Japan. In the journal, you can see a side of the group members’ lives that is normally hidden from view in their splendid performances. The travel journal consists of souvenir photos, other photos of belongings they took with them, their diary entries during the trips, and their travelogues.”

The travel journal can be ordered in advance in many online bookstores and will go on sale on May 25.

Group EXO releases its first studio album, XOXO, as they return to performing on TV again. On May 16, EXO’s agency reported that EXO-K (Su Ho, Baek Hyun, Chan Yeol, D.O., Kai, and Se Hun) and EXO-M (Xiu Min, Luhan, Kris, Lay, Chen, and Tao) would release this first studio album, XOXO (Kisses & Hugs). The agency also released a teaser image of the 12 members, which looks like a page from a school yearbook.

Since debuting at the same time in Korea and China on 8 April 2012, EXO has won rookie awards from several music awards in both countries. As the best rookie group of 2012, EXO has sold 270,000 pieces of its debut album, MAMA.

A staffer of the agency says, “This album is the first studio album, so all 12 members perform together and will perform in both Korea and China. We are going to give better, more extraordinary performances.”

From May 17, EXO is going to release teaser images of each member one at a time on the Internet.

18 May 2013 – 3 years of surfing the Korean Wave (Hallyu), KAvenyou began with humble beginnings from a portal not known by any one, to one with almost global presence bringing the best coverage to the fans. We began our first proper anniversary celebration last year with a K-Pop bundle contest giving away loads of Korean Idols goodies, and this year we thought of giving a fan an experience.

The often glamorous looking “job” of a photojournalist encompasses lots of preparation works and post-event works behind the scenes. KAvenyou has also got numerous requests from fans to join us in becoming a staff member in covering Korean events, so we decided to give a fan a shot at it this year.

“Be A KAvenyou Photojournalist”
The winner of this contest will get a chance for ONE chosen fan to pair up with our staff member in covering a random Korean Idol event in your country. The winner will also be a guest writer for KAvenyou for the event that he/she covered, and the article published on our main portal KAvenyou.com. If the chosen fan is also a photographer, all the photos taken by him/her will also be watermarked with his/her name and published on the KAvenyou Facebook Page.

How To Participate?
The instructions are actually in the poster at the top of this article, but we will repeat it here with more details.

1. FOLLOW, LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to all of KAvenyou’s social media portals, or whichever you have an account on.
2. Write a short article of between 250 – 300 words describing an experience of you getting up-close with a Korean celebrity, and submit the entry with a photo you think best enhances your story. The story can be based on an actual incident of a “fanfic”.
3. Send both the photo and the article to admin@Kavenyou.com with the subject “Be A KAvenyou Photojournalist“. Please also include your Full Name, Facebook ID, Twitter ID, Instagram ID, Youtube ID and Contact Number in the email (whichever applicable). All entries should be in by 25 May 2013.
4. All entries without the required information or items as described above will be disqualified.

How Will Winners be selected?

1. The top 5 entries selected by the KAvenyou staff will be uploaded to our Facebook Page for voting.
