3 February 2013 – Having made her debut following her participation in SuperStar K2, petite singer Kim So Jung (김소정) made her comeback with her 3rd single “Beautiful Love”. It was not long since her seemingly short promotions for “BLAP” where we last met her in Singapore, and now she is back with this mid-tempo ballad about innocent love.
“Beautiful Love” comes equipped with simple and melodic tunes, driven mainly by the acoustic guitar with the electric piano. Like many other K-pop tunes, it has a catchy and addictive chorus that leaves you enjoying it more as you listen on. Kim So Jung was yet again to showcase her versatility in terms of her vocal abilities through this song. “Beautiful Love” perfectly highlights the alleviating aspects in So-jung’s voice, hitting a perfect medium between the powerful “Sweat & Tears” and the light-hearted “BLAP”. There is also no shortage of emotions from her voice that leaves you reminiscing and desiring for an innocent love of your own.
“Beautiful Love” does not fall under the category of an instant hit, but is definitely a good soothing tune that you can enjoy every day.
