HOW TO GET THERE! KEY WORDS – Samseong Station, Line 2, Exits 5, 6
This is so easy. When you step off the train and into the mass of people you’ll see big signs for COEX, particularly THIS ONE.
Kind of hard to miss. Everyone’s headed in that direction anyways. When in doubt, and it’s a popular place, just follow the people.
Can’t set foot in Seoul or be there long without hearing about COEX. COEX mall is still the largest underground mall in Asia – easy to get lost in, endless restaurants, cafes, and shops. This is one of those “good wastes of time” places because you can seriously spend HOURS here and not know that time is actually passing by.
One of COEX’s feature “good wastes of time” is the aquarium! It’s… very creative the way they set up the displays. Kind of gives you a new way of looking at fish. It’s hard to explain. Luckily, we have photos to do that.
There was also normal stuff: some bats, a two-headed turtle and Barbies in a fish tank.
Oh! There were some penguins. They were copying exactly what they saw in the video. It was really cute and though I don’t have a photo or video that captures this, have this photo of an entranced penguin watching him and his kind deformed by animators.
“Very very sea” There was nothing after sea… Not even a pun like “sealicious.”
Don’t skip this! It’s not everyday you get to stick your hand into a tank of little fish and have them eat the dead skin off your fingers (a Doctor Fish for your hands). Just look for that creepy statue!
