Top groups CNBLUE and FT Island are likely not to appear in the annual awards at the end of this year.

A spokesperson from the two group’s agency, FNC music, announced “CNBLUE and FT Island might not be able to take part in the annual awards held at the end of this year due to the hectic schedules including promotions overseas.

“It is possible for both groups to participate neither in the 2011 Melon Awards nor in the 2011 MAMA. We are not sure whether or not the groups will be able to appear in other awards as well,” he added.

According to the agency, FT Island is scheduled to go on an Asia tour including Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and more. They are slated to release a new single “Distance” in Japan on November 30, and promote it.

CNBLUE is also to go on an Asia tour including Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and more. In February, 2012, they are scheduled to go on a national tour in Japan.

The spokesperson dished, “Both groups are so busy that they are hardly spending time in Korea these days. CNBLUE has schedules in more than five countries this month, so they will have less than a week to spend in Korea. So will FT Island.”

“We really want the groups to take part in the annual event, but the schedules don’t seem to allow them to do so,” he added.

Both groups have been amassing a lot of attention from releasing singles: CNBLUE with “Institution,” and Love Girl,” released last March and FT Island with “Hello, Hello,” and “Like Birds”

Meanwhile, girl group T-ara has also announced that they are not taking part in all the annual awards at the end of this year.
