Andong Zzimdak, Korea’s famous traditional Andong jjimdak franchise has opened its doors in Singapore on October 13th at Raffles City Shopping Centre, #B1-44F.

Andong Jjimdak is the popular Korean dish made with chicken, various vegetables marinated in a ganjang (Korean soy sauce)-based sauce. Singaporeans who frequent Seoul will be familiar with this dish, as they can be commonly found with presence in 3 stores just in Myeongdong alone.

Singapore’s Andong Zzimdak will be offering the original Andong Jjimdak, Boneless Jjimdak, Seafood Jjimdak and Mayak Jjimdak, all available in the Korea menu. Mayak Jjimdak is the extra spicy option, which will appeal to the spicy-loving Singaporeans.

This is a franchise partnership between Andong Zzimdak from Kofoo in Korea, and Seoulicious Pte Ltd in Singapore. The jjimdak sauce is specially imported from Korea to ensure a similar dining experience. The chefs have also undergone training by the Korean team to emulate the cooking methods and taste.

Andong jjimdak is a popular jjim (korean for steamed or boiled) dish, originating from the city of Andong, Geyongsangbuk-do Province. Hence the name literally means “steamed chicken of Andong.”

Established in 2006, Andong Zzimdak is one of the more popular jjimdak brands in Korea. There are currently 65 stores in the country.
